Inspired by my foodie adventures in Malaysia, these delicious wings with a spicy kick are going to be a hit at any party. Baked to perfection, the wings are crispy on top and tender inside.
2 1/2 pounds chicken wings, sectioned
2 tbsp baking powder
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp freshly ground black pepper
1 tsp smoked paprika
1/4 cup honey
1/4 cup sambal
1 tsp rice or white wine vinegar
1/2 tsp light oil
Preheat the oven to 425 F.
In a small bowl, mix the baking powder, salt, pepper, and paprika. Place the wings in a large bowl and sprinkle them with the dry mixture, evenly coating each wing. Arrange the wings on a wire rack and bake for about 1 hour, turning them over every 17 minutes.
In the meantime, in a small bowl, mix the honey, sambal, vinegar, and oil. Set aside.
Remove the wings from the oven and brush with the glaze on both sides.
Serve with the remaining glaze or sauce of your choice.
