Made with the store-bought puff pastry, these cheesy swirls aren’t only quick and easy to prepare but have flavors of delicious pizza. They are so good they are going to be a hit with your friends and family.
Thaw: 40 min Prep: 20 min Bake: 15 min Servings: 20 pieces
Ingredients
1 puff pastry sheet ( 1/2 17.3 oz package), thawed at room temperature
2 tbsp pesto
1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, grated
1/2 medium roasted pepper, chopped
2-3 sun dried tomatoes, chopped (the sun-dried tomatoes can be substituted with the chopped olives)
pepper to taste
1 egg, whisked
Directions
On a lightly floured surface, unfold the pastry sheet. Slightly roll it out with a rolling pin. Spread the pesto on top of the sheet. Top with the cheese, roasted pepper, sun-dried tomatoes, and pepper.
Roll up like a jelly roll.
With a sharp knife, cut the roll into 20 1/2 inch slices, and place them on a parchment lined large baking sheet. Brush the sides of the swirls with the egg wash.
Bake in the 400 F preheated oven for about 15 minutes.
Serve warm.
Enjoy!
